Extracurricular Activities of Communication Circle for Quality Eeducation in Multicultural Classrooms: A Phenomenological Study in Elementary School

Abstract
The present study aimed to investigate the role of extracurricular activities in multicultural elementary school classes through a qualitative approach and descriptive phenomenological method. The research field included students and teachers of multicultural elementary school classes in District 1 of Qom province in the academic year 2022-2023. The sample included 35 students and 9 teachers, selected by data saturation using purposive and criterion sampling. The data collection technique included semi-structured interviews, and the collected data were analyzed using the Colaizzi thematic content analysis method. The main themes in response to the first question were: artistic education, moral education, multicultural community, religious orientation, and sports activities. Main themes in response to the second question were cultural differences, students' minds, parents' expectations, school principals, teacher's shortcomings and perspectives, and the main themes in response to the third question were students, classroom, school, teachers' role, and strengthening education. The results of the present study highlight the significance of extracurricular platforms in schools, especially multicultural schools.
