The approach to research was mixed method in which, eight mathematics instructors and 45 students voluntarily participated in, and the data were collected using semi-conducted interviews and a questionnaire with 14 items. to conduct. The data were analyzed using interpretive methods and descriptive statistics. The findings indicated that the main challenges of mathematics learning included national university entrance examination, outdated teaching material, shortage of instructors specializing in mathematics, students’ insufficient knowledge of mathematics prior to enrolling to the university, and the lack of reliable internet and library at the Alberoni University, and political and social situations of the country. Based on these findings, the study concludes that there is an immediate need to relook at the recruiting mathematics instructors, syllabus, teaching methods. As well, depicting a clearer professional future for students who will be teaching at high school. To do this, establishing “mathematics department” at Alberoni University is a must. هدف از تحقیق حاضر، بررسی چالش‌های یادگیری ریاضی دانشجویان دانشگاه البیرونی افغانستان بود. در این پژوهش از روش آمیخته استفاده شد و در آن، هشت مدرس ریاضی و 45 دانشجو در نیم‌سال اول تحصیلی 1401-1400 شرکت کردند و داده‌ها از طریق مصاحبه‌ نیمه‌ساختاریافته و یک پرسش‌نامه جمع‌آوری شدند. برای تجزیه‌وتحلیل داده‌ها از روش‌های تفسیری و آمار توصیفی استفاده شد. یافته‌های این پژوهش نشان داد که مهم‌ترین چالش‌های یادگیریِ ریاضی دانشجویان در دانشگاه البیرونی، کنکور سراسری، به‌روز نبودن منابع درسی، کمبود مدرسان متخصص ریاضی، پیشینه ضعیف ورودی‌ها به رشته ریاضی و کمبود امکانات دانشگاه و در رأس آن-ها، مشکل اینترنت و منابع آموزشی و جنگ و شرایط سیاسی و اجتماعی است. برای رویاروییِ با این چالش‌ها، پیشنهاد می‌شود که در نحوة جذب اعضای هیئت علمی ریاضی، برنامه درسی ریاضی و روش‌های تدریس و ارزشیابی، دوباره‌نگری اساسی صورت بگیرد و تصویر روشن‌تری از آینده شغلی دانشجویان ارائه شود تا دانشجویان علاقه‌مندتری با پیشینة علمی قوی، وارد رشته دبیری ریاضی شوند. https://www.jcsicsa.ir/article_167181_51048c28024e94bf9a99a0daa728113b.pdf
